Windows Synchronize Folders

Can Wireless connections conflict with wired connections?

Lately at the office I work at more and more employees are opting for laptops and are frequently connecting to our server both wired and wirelessly. However, these employees with laptops (and it only seems to be them) seem to be having frequent problems synchronizing their laptops to the shared network folders on the server whether they are wired or wireless.

Often when these employees with laptops login some of the network folders they are supposed to see don’t appear to them or they appear void of files until either they synchronize using the Windows Synchronization Manager or rebooting.

Can these issues be cause by these employees often going from wireless to wired connections?

Thanks

Yes. Sometimes the computer gets real confused about which interface it should use. It’s especially bad if your wireless connectivity is marginal.

If people have a laptop and a wired connecteion available, I tell them to turn off the wireless and use that. It makes things much cleaner to debug, and it doesn’t tie up dynamic addresses unecessarily.
